Coverage for concerts, festivals and live events
D. Winston Media films concerts, festivals, sports and live events with multi-camera, gimbal and drone coverage. We've covered Chronixx in concert, Love City Live (the reggae festival on St. John) and Vivid Streaming's Clásico.
Live events leave no room for retakes. We plan camera positions, power, sightlines and aerial flight paths in advance, so every key moment is covered from more than one angle, and we coordinate with promoters, artists' teams and venues so the crew is an asset on show day, not an obstacle.
What we deliver
- Multi-camera coverage from the pit, stage and crowd.
- Gimbal and drone shots for scale and energy, with airspace approvals handled.
- Highlight reels and recaps that sell next year's tickets.
- Social cutdowns and vertical versions for artists, sponsors and promoters.
Planning live coverage
Good live coverage starts weeks before doors open. We walk the venue, agree camera positions with the promoter and production manager, plan cable runs and power, and confirm what the artist's team will and won't allow. For aerials, we request approvals and agree safe flight zones away from the crowd. On the day, everyone knows where to be when the headline moment hits.
Who we film for
We work with promoters, festivals, artists and their management, streaming platforms and sponsors. Each wants something different from the same night: the stream, the recap, the artist's socials and the sponsor's proof of activation. We plan coverage so every one of those deliverables comes out of a single shoot.
Sports and live broadcasts
Live coverage isn't just music. We filmed Vivid Streaming's Clásico, and we bring the same multi-camera and aerial approach to sports, galas, parades and community events.
Planning a shoot in the Virgin Islands
A few things help every Caribbean production run smoothly:
- Season and weather. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. Shoots in that window need flexible weather days built into the plan. Trade winds and passing showers are normal year-round, so we schedule key shots and aerials with backup windows.
- Light. Being close to the equator, the islands get strong overhead sun in the middle of the day. Golden hour comes and goes quickly, so we plan hero shots around sunrise and sunset and use the midday hours for interiors, interviews and coverage.
- Getting around. St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix and Water Island are linked by ferry, seaplane and short flights, and the British Virgin Islands are a boat ride away. We plan crew and gear moves so travel doesn't eat into shoot time.
- Permits and approvals. Location permits and airspace approvals take time. Share your dates early and we'll build approvals into the schedule.
